This hawk visited our back yard in Potlatch, ID, often looking for a quick meal among the many birds that visited my wife's bird feeders. I took this from our dining room during a snowstorm in February.

Hawk Visitor small.webp

Howdy and welcome. That is a real environmental shot. I believe your bird is a Cooper's hawk, however, unless the Red-tails look different in your locale.

Cooper's hawk works. Red tails are prevalent in our neck of the woods and we tend to refer to all hawks that way.

We had both back in NY. Cooper's Hawks are also quite a bit smaller than a Red Tail.
