I'm saying **** all this time

I didn't post it for debate... in fact, I should have left out my participation in the controversial activity.

The post was simply meant for artistic expression. That is all.

Fantastic each shot is worth at least $10,000

I don't see any artistic value in these shots, all controversy aside. Your avatar is pleasant though ;)

I don't feel like I need to defend anything I've ever shot/posted, but I will point out what prompted me to take these.

1. The afternoon summer sunlight was hitting the railing nicely. These little guys just happened to be there.
2. Part of a series I did with this piece. The eyes of the skull illuminate when the pipe is lit. I happened to like this unlit one best.
3. I liked the bright colors of the pipe. I also thought it was a unique piece... and being that it was hand carved, I thought the artistry that went into making it was worth capturing in my own way.

Seriously? I'm not going to express my opinions on recreational marijuana use or whether it should be legal or not ect, ect, but did you really think that posting something this controversial wouldn't spark a debate?

All that aside what were you trying to express with these? I like #3 the most, nice colors, but you clipped the top a bit. It looks like a product shot and could have benefited from the application of the rule of thirds and a theme appropriate background. Maybe put him on some sand with a little plastic palm tree and a photo of the beach behind him (backdrop) and shoot low angle or eye level with him. Could be a fun shoot, especially with some "creativity enhancement."

Thanks, this is more along the lines of what I was looking for...

I understand that human nature is to debate topics which are controversial. But I did not post this on a debate forum, I posted on a beginners photography forum.

Food for thought: had I not used the explicit marijuana reference, these could ALL be passed off as tobacco. Had I specifically said "Hand rolled cigs and tobacco pipes" I am nearly certain that the reaction would have been different.

I'm happy I could be of some help. A lot of debating is done here, especially if the right people are posting... You could post a pic of a white wall and get an 8 page flame war on the proper usage of a flash.

Hmmm... musta missed that one. Was it a smooth wall or a textured wall? And was the ceiling colored or neutral?

OP: #1 - looks flat. Might have been more interesting if the angle was more from the side and there was more light/shadow.
#2 - would have been interesting if the eyes were lit up or glowing. Otherwise, it's a blue skull with no context.
#3 - an interesting piece, but that OOF green thing is pulling the eye away, and the light needs to be more rounded to give the object some volume.

Performance enhancer? Maybe you should smoke a little more before you hit that shutter next time.
