Relaxing in thoughts. Critique please.

Hello, I am new to the forum. Hoping to gain more techniques in photography. I would appreciate any comments or advice on this photo. Wanting to learn more about photographing people.

I think this picture has the potential to be really excellent but, as small as it is here, it is difficult to see well.

Just looking at it now, I wish that the head and hands weren't jammed up in the corner so that the feeling of isolation and depth was more intense.
Right now his right hand is very bright and competing with the face for the viewers' attention and I think there needs to be a little more detail in the face.
His left hand is bright and sitting on a fairly bright pants leg which attracts attention a bit too much I think.
If you have a larger, uncropped version, that might be helpful to see.

Thank you for your critique, I understand what you are saying. I will have to find orginal and see what I can do. I will try to upload them bigger, not sure why it attached the file so small. Thank you, it definitely helped me out with this photo.

Everything one does is to ensure that the viewers' eyes goes to what you think is important.
The viewer tries to assign every element some degree of importance and the viewer gets hints from brightness, focus and placement.
So, in processing, you want to put important stuff in important places, minimize distracting elements and maximixe important ones.

This shot shows you 'see' good things to shoot, which is 90% of the battle.
The technical stuff of exposure, focus, final composition will come with practice.

I really like this shot, but I'm not sure how I feel about the cropping. The foot being chopped off feels a bit unnatural. Otherwise, A+.

Thank you Lew, I really love that advice makes a lot of sense and appreciate your kind words! I am just getting into photographing models, I think I was going for a type of industrial feel for this photo. I need to work on the contrast of photos too.

Trevor, thank you for nice words! I noticed that in the photo, after I took it, lol didn't realize I did that, definitely understand what you are saying.
