Remember those AI-S lenses?

will a Nikon AI-S lens work for a Nikon N80 or Nikon F3?

Kinda wondering if the coupling will get in the way?!

oh yeah, they'll work on anything. It will work perfect on the F3, but it just won't meter on the N80.

i've used a 50mm f1.4 AI-S lens on a D80 with out any problems...other then not being able to meter... but its pretty easy to guess a close exposure...at least for me

I still use AI-s lenses, a lot of them. The F3 is MADE for them. (my favorite film camera of all time) The N80 won't meter, but pick up a hand-held and away you go, old school.

anyone ever try the 50mm F/1.2 AI-S lens... quality of picture I ehard was some what of an issue...

Ya, the 50 1.2 is not as sharp as the 50 1.4, but it's not bad. I have the 55 1.2, it's worse that the 50 1.2 but if you need the speed it's acceptable. The fast Nikkor lens to have is the 58mm f/1.2 Nocto. It is sharpest at f/1.2 and is tack sharp. I does demand a hell of a price for a 35 year old lens.
