remembering chernobyl

I was 8 years old back then, and remember the day it happened very well... I was playing outside in the rain when my mom came out in a hurry, put me into the shower and tried to wash off anything that might have fallen down on me...

Luxemburg is quite a distance from Tchernobyl, but the rain came straight from there...

Many people around here that I know have problems with the thyroid, almost everyone of my close family had cancer at some point... sometimes I wonder if its just a coincidence...

I just hope that nothing this horrible will ever happen again ...
