Remote shutter release

any recomondations for my t2i?
and what should i look for in one?

How far away do you need to be? There are all kinds and lengths of Canon and off brand wired remotes - check on eBay. The Canon ones are grossly overpriced. If you need a longer distance than the wired ones can offer, check out the low cost radio controlled remotes again on eBay. I bought one a few years ago for under $25.00. Works just great on my Canon XSi. One press does the focusing, second press trips the shutter. Don't know if the T2i supports the Canon IR remote, it is neat but you need to be able to see the sensor on the front of the camera for it to work. The others are more consistant.

I bought a Yongnuo trigger years ago for dirt cheap new, use it a LOT (almost always) and it's never failed me a single time. I've used it from as far as about 80 feet away without a problem, but never tested to see just how far away I could get - 80 feet is about as far as I've felt the need to get so far. Mine looks like this:

I don't see that particular model available anymore, but I'm guessing their newer ones are just as good, and still dirt cheap compared to the big brand names.

I got a third party battery grip with remote for 40 euro on ebay, thats about 60 dollars and kills 2 birds with 1 stone

I have a wired remote and a wireless one. I got them from some e-bay store out of Hong Kong. I think the wired one was $7 and the wireless one was $12.
