Rented a lens for the weekend, C&C?

I rented the 24-70 f2.8 over the weekend, and put together a few "photoshoots"with with friends. Enjoy

Hello there! C&C per request:

Well, there's several things I see about this image. First, it's lacking contrast and overexposed w/blown highlights. Composition is ok, except you cut part of her left arm and the two windows in the background at each side of her head are kinda distracting, not to say the horizon is tilted. Just by adjusting the contrast and holding a little bit the highlights, you'll probably see some improvement (hopefully you shoot this in RAW).

About the model/subject, the pose and smile doesn't seem natural. Like she was smiling for a long time and lost it. The hair is a mess and not in a good way, as it sometimes can be.

Kathy,

Your image appears to be out of focus, and you shot at too slow of a shutter speed. When shooting at 70mm, you should probably be at least at 1/100s on a crop frame camera. That exposure change would have also brought down the highlights, as it appears to be slightly over exposed.

Do you have any more photos with this lens?

Here's a quick edit. I pulled back the exposure almost a full stop, sharpened, bumped the contrast and straightened the horizon. Recropped but it's still not a great crop, just working with what was there. The stray hairs all over the place are a no-no, but I think she has a lovely smile. She's a very pretty red head, which is rare. Other than that, LK pretty much nailed it. Oh, and cleavage never hurts. Just sayin'...

IMO, her face is underexposed, slightly green tinted (reflection from the grass) and undersaturated a bit.
The pin-point reflections from the flash should be fixed.
This lens is capable of much more detail than this with better lighting

Thanks everybody for the c&c! I cropped the image close to her arm because her legs, and feet were in the background, it felt like the right thing to do at the time. I'll do an edit and repost. I did shoot in RAW
