I have a new found respect for individuals that can take pictures of people at weddings and the pictures come out looking professional. I did a wedding for a friend and he didn't have a photographer and I went ahead and volunteered myself to take pictures. He understood that I'm not a pro but I would take what i've learned and apply it. Well..... I took about 450 pics and I feel like none of them turned out. Very disappointed. The one challenge I had was in about 90% of the pics I had a lighting challenge. Light was coming from outside through the 4 windows, numerous can lights and lastly, Christmas lights. I always thought, "how hard could it be to take pics at a wedding" well, I think this will be my last one before I go to a lot of school and possibly shadow a pro photographer. If this works, here's the only picture I am happy with. They read verse 12 just below the rings.

I think that I'm reasonably good at shooting and have a fairly strong sense of composition and control of my camera, but I'm the first to admit I couldn't do it. Anyone that can shoot the same subject over and over and over and still find a way to bring something fresh to the table have my respect too.

I think just about anyone can be a wedding photographer, but very, very few do it well.
