Ambient lighting and was shot at 1600 ISO with a 20D. Has noise but not bad...atleast in my eyes lol. Shot at the wedding we just did and wanted to push the old 20D and see what she's made of before she went bye bye.

That just screams elegant and classy! Love it!

lol it took me a sec to recognize the rose petals. It looks good, but your right the noise might be too much of an interference for some people.

Yeah I guess the noise might be bothersome to the trained eye. I have shots of this taken with the 5D that turned great...just found it really interesting how 1600 ISO shot on a 20D turned out decent.

Thanks for stopping by guys and gals!

Hey thanks Ryan

It looks awesome. Very creative lighting!

But I have one question. What lens did you use? If you put an inferior lens on a 20D, you will get terrible noise at ISO 1600. If you use an awesome lens, the noise control is much better. Now with the 5D, even at ISO 3200, noise is not an issue for me even if I have a mediocre lens.

Thanks man!

I used the 24mm prime 2.8 on this shot. Shooting in AV and turned down the exposure -2/3 stop metering it at the diamond. I was using the 24 prime taking indoors shots of the details while the bride was getting ready, really small room. So I think what helped reduce the noise on the petals and somewhat disguised it was the underexposure of 2/3 stop. And since the diamond was glistening, and pretty much had no variable tones of exposure it disguised it there too.

I also agree with your point about the lens, if using an inferior lens the inferior glass just adds noise to the image as well especially with the high ISO on a 20D. The 5D already does wonders for me man so I'm really itchin for the Mark II. However has to be prolonged since my 20D is bye bye and the budget might shift too the 7D...I think
