Seriously messed up. I can't understand why there wasn't more of a response after the first shots were reported... but then I don't know all the facts. Obviously trying to understand why someone would do this is much harder. More people lose their friends and loved ones in a violent way, more real people to be reduced to statistics and political footballs by every faction...

This really is crazy. I can't imagine what those at VT must be going through right now. I have a friend who goes to there; he was telling me earlier that the whole campus was on lockdown yesterday after the shootings. Must be frightening and heartbreaking.
