River Flooding & Strange Behavior

Sure did rain here beginning of the week -- way too much over about three days. One of the smaller rivers that empty into the Mississippi (Meramec) just south of the city is over it's banks and rising. I drove to a park along the river for my walk this morning. By Saturday ( predicted crest) that city park sign in the photo below will be entirely under water.

Given the additional rise of 4 to 5 feet just about to happen I have to wonder what the park employee in the photo below thought he was doing with the industrial leaf blower -- that parking lot is about to disappear into the river. Fuji X-T2 w/18-55mm
