had to go off site today at work and decided to take my camera with me as i'd had a couple of hours spare. first chance really to play with my ND filters. i didnt have a tripod with me as i didn't know what there might be to shoot. that and i only had space for my small bag.

this was about it to shoot tbh. i did find a few good spots, but was private land so couldn't get close enough.

this was 1.6sec, f/18, iso200 and ND8 filter.

I like it a lot! Looks badass!

I haven't been able to get a long shutter speed in the daylight like that without it coming out super white and over exposed. I've used a couple different filters too....:(

you need ND filters. they will help alot to remove some of the light. other ways of reducing the light are lowering the iso and the aperture. if you want a bigger aperture, you've got to rely more on the filters.

Yeah you'll need to close down the aperture and use your exposure compensation to keep from blowing out a long exposure shot like that.

One of the things I hate about living in the south is that our rivers are typically big, boring lakes of moving mud. Very few babbling brooks over moss covered rocks like this. Very nice shot Kar1!

cheers!

i could of got a few better shots had i been able to get access.

reason for cropping is the background wasn't so pleasent and was slightly blown out and i was exposing the rock (it was in shade). that and the fact my cam decided to noth bother shooting in RAW, even though it was selected, lol.

Well the crop works! I love it, but a framed print would involve a custom I think:guilty:

Framing wouldn't be a problem as I still have the uncropped original :)
