Thanks. This is actually two different birds from when I was walking around the park yesterday. You have to get them before they see you or they're off like a rocket (even with no coyote in sight). I had never noticed the irridescent tail feathers before.

No problem. That was going to be the title for my post. I used to think these guys were purple.

It reminds me of when I took my (then very young) son to the ACME grocery store in N.J. He told me "Dad, we shouldn't go in there because everything might blow up."

I remember the first time I ever saw a photo of a real road runner and I was like "WTF!? How th hell did Looney Tunes get the roadrunner from THAT!?"

And I won't even get started on the first time I saw what a real tasmanian devil looks like.....
