Cute I think I would have shot it landscape to allow for filling the frame more and being closer (or at least shoot both), but that's just me .

the arm is just a little bit unnerving, but i like the composition, it's nice that it doesnt fill the frame with just BABY.

Thanks! =) I actually did shoot it in landscape to fill the frame...but then decided it was boring...so I changed it and cloned in some paper at the top and then added a bit of texture.

i normally dont like baby pictures, but this one i found neat. i think its because the tail looks like the babies hair like a pony tail or something.

It looks like what's called a dangerous pose in the portrait business. As far as the vertical composition versus a horizontal, in the shot as-shown, the baby occupies less than 10 percent of the frame area. To me, that makes for a boring photo, since the prime real estate happens to be the cloned-in wall area at the upper levels of the image. I wonder what it would have looked like with a closer-up framing of the child, and less wall above her. This shot is a novelty pose,and I think a larger image of the baby would make it stronger.

I think the idea is novel, but it does look a bit unsafe for a newborn, with the hardwood floor and the rocking horse's rockers and all that. I was thinking though, as I looked at the shot, what a dedicated people photographer you must be, to have a wall in your home that was painted so as to be a nice brown toned background....and then you told us it as cloned in texture...a crushing blow...

Darrel...sorry for the crushing blow =P ...but I'm strictly a hobbyist...a MWAC, trying some fun things with my own baby.

and btw...this is a composite photo...LOL...I'm not so stupid as to stick my baby on the back of a rocking horse and walk away and just hope she doesn't fall off. LOL I assure you, it's 100% safe.

Interesting image. But like other posters have made out it's a bit freaky..
