I bought a Rode Wireless Pro microphone set to go with a Sony A7IV. I have a Saramonic Blinkme set, but it could not be used with lavaliers, and the mikes kept falling off their magnets.

Tonight I tried to use the Rode set, and I kept getting a high-pitched noise in the recordings. I Googled and found out there is some kind of compatibility issue.

Does anyone here know of a fix for this? I blew over $300 on these things, mainly to be used with this camera.

Not yet. I'm not happy Rode let me buy these things without putting a disclaimer on Amazon.

What research did you do to confirm this 'incompatibility'?

The last time you bought a vehicle, did the seller confirm it will fit in your garage for you?

There are people talking about it on Youtube.

Well, I have to correct myself. They are having problems with the Wireless Go.

Rode has a page about the issue. It mentions the GO II and not the Pro, but the page is part of a section on general wireless issues.

Turning off wifi didn't help. I'm not turning off Bluetooth, because I need it. I don't know if the camera has airplane mode or whether it will shut off the Bluetooth. I am trying to find out.

If using a system which seems to be more susceptible RF interference, we would also recommend the following to reduce the RF interference in the recordings:
  • Lowering the input gain of your camera/ audio recorder, while boosting the gain from the Wireless GO II receiver
  • Using a longer TRS 3.5mm cable can also safeguard against interference, as the receiver can be further away from the recording device
  • Enabling a Airplane mode on the camera/ audio recorder

I'm going to work on it a little, and if it doesn't stop, I'll send this product back to Amazon and let them eat the loss. I can get a DJI set.

Never had this problem with Saramonic. I went back to Saramonic tonight to get a video done.

The cable that runs from the receiver to the camera may be defective or just cheap. I just replaced it with a cable from some random electronics store in Switzerland, and I don't get the noise. I only tried with one mike. These things lost their charge a lot faster than I expected, and one died before I could test them together. Now I have to wait.

I would think Rode would use good cables, so maybe there is a defect.

The noise was originally so bad, the audio could barely be heard, so it's a serious problem.

I tried the new cable with both mikes, and everything is fine, so Rode gave me a bad cable. Either it's defective, or they just didn't feel like providing a shielded cable.
