Rookie Mistake with Frozen Water falls. ARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHH!!!!

Well, I went to a REALLY cool location today for photos. It was murder getting there, but beautiful once we were in. Took a bunch of photos, and called it a day. Here are a couple of shots. C&C is welcome (the last is just a snapshot....., so no need to tell me how bad it is. I just thought it was fun.)

The thing that really angers me though, is that the whole time I had my strobe in my bag AND DIDN'T ****ING USE IT. Not even once did it occur to me to pull the strobe out and use it. I would have had some stunning shots if I would have just pulled my head from my rectum, and reached for the strobe. Had I just remember to use the equipment I brought, I would have HUNDREDS of great shots instead of four mediocre ones.

Grrrr.

I WILL be going back next week, and I WILL be bringing my strobe, and I WILL use it.

How very frustrating.

If anyone has any advice on how to best use my equipment for this scenario, I'm all ears.

i would recommend using a soft box of some sort when you go back.

I like the shots from behind the waterfall. Make sure to post the photos that you get when you go back!

You should have a person or car next to the first picture to show the size. In the first photo there is no way to tell how big (or small) the water fall is.

I don't like #1 because it is collapsing in the middle. I would correct the wide angle distortion. Water flows down due to gravity and not splayed outward or inward depending on where you start following the frozen water "fall"
