Record and used book stores are my absolute favorite. Love buying tapes and books!

One of the dvantages of a large metropolis over living in the country are the quirky little shops that the population density supports. They'd never make it out here. However up until recently we had a modern version of the country store just a couple mile from us. They carried everything from farm supplies, hardware, building supplies, firearms, plants, fertilizer, canning, feed, seed, chemicals, mowers, small implements, you name it they had it. They were in a sprawling old building, and were always busy. Unfortunately the owner and his wife parted ways and the resulting cost of the split forced them out of business.

Stores like that did get whacked by bigbox operations but often around S. Ontario it was the retreat of the agricultural frontier as farmlands gave way to subdivisions--sadly. Loved those "Aladdin's Cave" stores stuffed with merch whose exact location sometimes required Lewis and Clark-like exploration.
Finding that vinyl merchants are going for cheap rents and digital storefronts that draw customers from afar, particularly if the small town offers decent food and drink--attractive day tripping for the analog-obsessed? Why not!
