as a newbie, just to understand better....if i take 2 different lens and keep aperture and other settings the same...will i get the same result in terms of sharpness, color, contrast, etc ..??

thanks a lot.

no. If you keep all your settings the same, you get the same exposure.
Sharpness, contrast and so on is determined more by the quality of the glass in the lens

Maybe, but probably not. Every lens is different, even two samples of the same model line may produce slightly different results. How apparent this is relates largely to the quality of the lens. If you compare a pro lens (Nikon 'Gold Ring' or Canon L) against a consumer kit lens, the differences will be pronounced. If you compare two pro or two consumer lenses, than the differences will likely be less so.

Think of it very basically... like... If I put different tires on my car and leave everything else the same... will I get the same performance? Chances are... no, you won't. But it is possible....

Are the 2 lenses tha same focal length?

If not, the metering may also be diferent, depending on the metering mode used, because the amout of light in the scenen will be different.

Probably not.
