Do you get a transmitter too?

What camera are you planning on using with the speedlight. The SB-24 won't TTL with newer cameras.

I have a d80. I'm getting cybersyncs soon though. I already have a transmitter so I didn't ask.

that's a great deal if it works well. Sb-24's sell for $75-110 usually on eBay, and you're getting a receiver.

By SB-24 I'm guessing Nikon Flash, not SB 24 - PARENTAL CONSENT BEFORE MINOR'S ABORTION...

For $40 go for it, if it doesn't work out you can sell it for at least what you paid.
