SB600 LCD screen keeps blinking

All of a sudden the lcd screen on the back of my flash started blinking. It turns itself on and off constantly, without any reason whatsoever. Getting batteries out, reset, all those things don't help.
Does anyone ever had the same problem here? And knows how to fix it?

Turning on and off? Or just going into standby and out? Because that's what my SB-800 did due to corroded hotshoe contacts.

To rule it out get a pencil and scribble over the hotshoe contacts and then erase it afterwards, though erasing it isn't that important since graphite is conductive.
