Sb600 OCF AF illumination???

Is there a was to use the af illumination off camera. Mind you I am not using CLS.

I would just use a small flashlight to assist AF.

The only way I see AF assist even just firing off camera is with a TTL cable, but that idea seems completely dodgy to me anyway.
