Hi Good morning,
Could anyone help me solve a little problem i'm encountering. i own a D3000 and just bought the Sb700 flash. i'm finding it a little difficult to use the external flash ( sb700 ) as a remote. could anyone guide me on how to set the camera please ?

You know the D3000 does not have a commander mode to operate the SB-700 wirelessly (remotely / off-camera ) right? You will need a SU-800 Wireless Speedlight Commander. I'm sure there are alternative gadgets but this I do know.

Yup, your D3000 does not have the ability to operate your new SB-700 remotely. Use a wireless transmitter or a cable to operate it off-camera or upgrade your body to one that has "commander" mode CLS operation.

You could always go with a pocket wizard wireless trigger or something like that. You should really do your research before investing in expensive gadgets.

Wouldn't help him if he wants to use it in TTL mode - and since he is trying to use the CLS system, I can only assume thats what he wants to do.

Ah! Good call. I was just figuring he was looking to pop his flash off cam with no cord, but you might be right. :thumbup:
