Yes, I am still surprised how often with this kind of street photography the expressions and emotions captured in the image are not what it really was. But that is the power of putting something or someone in a particular visual context. She became the part of a supposedly unnerving or "scary" setting, and it forces us to read her expression as being, sort of, a bit scared. In reality she was probably just annoyed that her mum did not want to buy a pumpkin.
