"Scenes from the East" or something - critiques?

Hello,

I'm an amateur photographer equipped with little more than a D5000 - I'd love some critiques on these photographs. Thanks!

If you're wondering, the first two photos are of the Golconda fort, a crumbling medieval-era walled city in southern India. The rest were taken in the deserts of the UAE.

The desert scenes have the most potential.

No 1 doesn't have enough context to be interesting to me.
No 2 is well done. I wish the sky was blue tho.
No 3 is cool but I wish it was closer to sunrise or sunset as applicable.
No 4 needs a subject
No 5 is good
No 6 is not novel. but still pretty cool.

All in all a fun set. Thanks for sharing.
