Screen to print issues

I started using Millers for prints. I know they have a good reputation and the free overnight shipping is not something to complain about. However, I placed orders for 5 clients and every single batch came out several "shades" darker than my hard edited work on screen. I spent hours brightening eyes, faces, teeth, etc, only to find the prints to be drab.

Any suggestions? I just got a new iMac and I haven't really messed with the settings yet . Is it as simple as just turning down the monitor brightness or is there something else I can or should be doing?
