SD Card Options

I currently have a sandisk 16gb class 4 on my 600d but the card cannot keep up the the video recording , anyone have any opinions about which card i should buy? im not looking to make a lot of videos now do i need a top end SD card. so class 6 is what the manual says or should i go higher just to be on the safe side?

You need to look at the actual transfer rate as some class 10 cards are actually slower than class 6. This is because class 10 cards can be as 'slow' as 10mbits/s and some class 6 are 15 mbits/s. Class 6 should be sufficient for video. I use class 6 cards in a JVC pro video camera so class 6 should be good enough.

So far for videos/pictures I've been using the Lexar "Professional" 133x 16GB SDHC Class 10, its been great and haven't had any lag/file errors or troubles. Plus I got it for a discounted price at B&H ($19.99, no tax/shipping cost!), but it seems like it's not on sale ($27.95). BUT it clearly states it's for "DSLR video capture" and "Minimum 20MB/s read transfer" and other reviews said that Lexar's is a reliable company for SDHC's! So ya you should check it out, here's the B&H link...

You literally just missed the month long Sandisk sale. 16gb extreme 30MB/s was 25 dollars.

Now it's $29.

I typed out the first sentenced before I found out how much they were after the sale lol. Not as great as they made it out to be lol.
