What's new

See My Work

I've been on facebook for years and my computer is virus free. Some people just don't know how to handle the internet. Example: my wife.

I don't want to understand Facebook i would rather talk to my friends face to face over a pint

As would I. But I think we can both agree that spreading false information is not in anyone's best interest.

My main computer was full of viruses and my son only goes on Facebook or should i say went on Facebook because he is now banned from my computers

Well it sounds like your son is equally as uneducated about the internet as you are.

I guess that will teach him not to click random links of "OSAMA BIN LADENS DEATH PHOTOS OMGOMGOMGOMGOLOLOLOLOL" that pop up on Facebook chat.

I just don't see the point of Facebook, it's not for me the only people that tried to contact me through it for photography were rock bands and they don't pay

It could just be a difference in areas, I know in Canada Facebook has been an extremely useful tool for social media :) Word of mouth through Facebook has gotten me quite a few clients!

Over here they don't go in for senior portraits, at the moment i'm into shooting horse and dog portraits loads more money than people portraits

If you are on the internet, your life is out there anyways ... either it be facebook, paying online bills, buying stuff online. Don't want you life online, don't use the internet (although its too late already lol)

The internet thrives off of internet dummies. Stay smart and learn to not click on EVERYTHING that pops up.

Again, I've been online for yearsssssssssssss ... and only 1 virus I can remember (also while living through the Napster and Torrent era). Didn't even need a full hd wipe to fix it either.

It was on UK National Radio, therefore it must be true....

I Lol at your avatar every time I see it Tyler.

Also you don't want Facebooks spyware on your computer

You should probably understand how the internet works before suggesting that something gives you spyware, when in fact it does not. If you misuse facebook and KNOWINGLY click "Accept" on a random application or enter your credentials on a different site, YOU are the one downloading the spyware.

Me to, but when you have friends that live far away from you or you're using it as a business marketing tool, it's valuable for things you can't always do face to face.

I've never had that problem. I'd have to wonder what else he was doing. As long as you're not visiting external links or doing stupid browsing, then there's not a big need to worry about viruses from FB.

Plus you have to market to your type of client and you can't just expect your type of clients to magically come to you.
