Since there is not many signs of spring here yet, this is pretty much what is around in terms of flowers - it's the seed pod of a clematis.

Very well focused close-up/macro, but the selective colouring is not for me ... can we see the original, too (maybe?)?

Oh, wow! This photo really appeals to me. I agree with The Losing Kind - gorgeous!

I think the selective colouring could be great but may I suggest one thing? Retake the shot without the strands obscuring the central part of the clematis, because where they inevitably also become coloured in the selected region detracts from the rest of the photo.

Other than that, lovely composition and I like the faded framing too. And the backlit glow on the leaf to the left looks great.

Well done!

Chris.

Thanks for the comments guys! Shoebacca, thanks for noticing the OOF strands that are coloured - to be honest, I didn't even notice - and now I'm finding them incredibly distracting...too bad they are in another province, or I would take another. If I was any good with PS, I'd try that way.

LaFoto, here are the originals - one sharpened, one not. Let me know what you think!

Beautiful photo. I think I prefer the color, although I kinda like the selective color too.

*bump*
Just wondering if anyone has comments on the original vs. the selective colouring.

I prefer the selective coloring one myself. But, I mean, the original certainly isn't bad. It's just gonna be a person-by-person thing, selective coloring pretty much always is.
