Seeking canon lenses

check ebay and craigslist.
also check online stores like KEH.com under used equipment. KEH's BGN stuff is usually in great shape optically, but wear on the barrel. the 14 day return policy is nice too, and makes it pretty much risk free.

135mm f/2 is a very nice lens for reasonable price. The range 135mm is great for work with kids.

Yes, the 50mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.8 Canon EF lenses are VERY nice lenses for portraiture. Really,really great lenses for value and for performance.
