Since I knew I wasn't going to get anything close to a decent picture straight from the camera, I decided I'd go crazy with the edit and make a wild edit. It was fun

You really made a good photo editing, i will say wild photo editing. And 1.8 camera will give good result if the photo is taken in good lighting. But the resolution of your camera is really great. HTC gives really good camera as the lens used in making camera in HTC mobile phones is very good.

Yes, these phone cameras are quite good. It can't take really impressive picture, but it definitely looks quite good from the phone.
