Self portrait with hand as reflector

I was playing around a bit with silhouettes (hadn't done that before) when I got the idea of using my hand as a reflector.
It's nothing too special but I'm kinda pleased with the result, especially because I thought the idea up myself.

I like this, great idea. Did by chance try it in black and white? I find low lit shots like this tend to look muddy, that is often solved with B&W. Might be worth a try

No I didn't yet, I usually prefer color.
I'll process a B&W shot tomorrow though, might actually be a good idea. ^^

I agree with pixel, would probably look great as a b/w, i really like this tho.

It seems the light is falling directly and therefore it looks so harsh. Try to use diffused light and make sure it falls evenly on the body and no area remains in the dark. Lowering the ISO to 100 and increasing the shutter speed might help you get a better shot. Use of hand as a deflactor is a nice idea but it has only brightened the nose and viewer's attention is drwan towards it. Try to change the position of hand and look if it brightens the dark side of face and see if that is aesthetically attractive to the viewer or not. Good job, btw.
