Sessions with a Hawk (6 photos)

Hey All,

So about 2 weeks ago, I was walking my dog in the park when I heard a rustling in the trees. I looked over and there was a red-tailed hawk staring back at me! He was down real low in the tree and didn't seem to care that my dog and I were very close to him. I quickly finished my dog's walk, and RAN back to my apartment to get my camera. Then RAN back to the park, and he was still there!:cheer: And he didn't even care if I took his picture!

I disovered that he actually lives in the park with his partner. So over the past few weeks I've been trying for some good pictures. Here's the best of what I've gotten.

These are excellent shots. Good detail on the plumage of the bird too. Wish I had some hawks to photograph near me!

Wow, several of these wonderful birds live near my house. (SIGH) However i have never been able to get them this close. Great shots. Seems this bird is as bad as Chiller/april/Jonm 's crows to track down for a nice Photo.

I love #2, just look at that wing span and the way the feathers are all spread out. It's nice that it's off centered too. I also like #1 and teh way he's got on of his claws/talons? tuckd up. Nice shots!
