Does anyone know of a great place ton the internet to find out about setting up lighting? Currently I have a studio set from Opus with the softbox and the umbrella. Tonite I have to shoot individual hockey photos and since I have never used studio lights for a shoot. I am really in need of trying to figure out how to set them up. Any suggestions at all? All your help is appreciated and sorry for the short notice

I just did a google on 'studio light setup' and 'portrait lighting' and a ton of information came up. Some usefull information on classic poses for men also came up.

I don't know how big your softbox and umbrella are but a good ration is to have your fill 1 stop less than your main. You could use your softbox for the main, a white board as a reflector for the fill and carefully set your umbrella to shed some light on the hair, back of the shoulders and also illuminate the background a bit. I assume that you'll be shooting in the evening so you won't be able to use window light.
