I just ran across this one from 2009. The local area was settled by Irish Catholic immigrants in the mid 1800's. Many of the original family names are still common in the area. This was the original cemetery in use from 1854 to 1904. For almost a century it was neglected and ended up overgrown to the point you would not know there was a cemetery there just by looking at the field. In the late 1800's it was cleaned up and what stones remained were re-erected. I remember how struck I was at the time on the young ages shown on so many of the stones from infancy to early 30's. They were hard times.

Certainly in better shape than the settlers cemetery near where we live, Wilson Hill Cemetery.
