I want to get a few shots of the moon just above the horizon or behind tall buildings. The goal is to make the moon look really large in the image.
I hope to achieve this via foreshortening with a long telephoto. Since I don't really use a long telephoto for anything else, I'm trying to limit the budget on this.
One option is to get a 500mm mirror lens.
A second option is to get the Canon extender and use it with my 70-200 f/2.8 IS II. That would give me 200mm.
Option 1 would give me a longer focal length, and it would be cheaper and a smaller, lighter, easier to manage setup.
Option 2 might lead to better image quality. Then again, considering I'm adding more glass, it might not.
Thoughts?
