Yeah, I see the same thing. It looks like a bright reflection of something is on her face, in a rather uneven way. It's on both her cheeks, on the right side of the mouth, and below her chin. Doesn't look like it belongs.

I think that if she had dark hair, the background would have worked.

Yep, in my opinion her hair is too similar in color as the background.

I mean, its still an 8 out of 10 in my opinion, which is still good.

Thanks. Although not a background, it's an overlay to for that "vintage" feel.

The second go-around is better, in my opinion - there is no interesting glow on her face. As others have noted, the colour of her hair and the background are very similar in tone, and her hair therefore kinda blends into the background, which is a shame since she has a very nice head of hair. The contouring light on her looks good - we can definitely see she has curves. I'm a little put off by her looking somewhere four feet above my head (as a viewer), which makes me lose some intimacy with what should be an intimate shot.

Thanks. I have other shots where she is looking more towards the camera, however, they were not as "fun" as this one...didn't have the same feel to me (or the model, for that matter).

I like the white background better, but what stands out to me in both versions is the shadow on her calf with a red colorcast.

Not quite sure how to lose the red colour cast since I upped the reds for the pin up effect.
