Sharp Shinned Hawk

The other day I was doing something inside and saw this frequent visitor fly in. He landed on the bird feeder (lol irony!) and I scurried for my camera.
He stayed put and searched the vines for any little birds who froze in place and let me shoot him for a bit from far inside the house, even looked in as to say "Hey lady, where'd they all go?" lol
After a good search he took off at a sharp angle, and dove into one of the pine trees that the birds also hide in. Nobody flew out and he flew off to search elsewhere.

It was awesome to watch him hunt!

Ah yes,we had a beautiful clear day! But.... it was -30 with the windchill out there! Brrrr!

Hey Tony Ah yes, this particular bird has been well debated here lol! His tail is nice and flat across the bottom so the verdict was Shaprie ;-)
