She just wasnt feeling it???

I started to shoot a friend of mine last Saturday. She wore an undershirt that gave off a terrible white sheen. I told her I was able to edit it and make it so that it was never there and she told me, "Im just not feeling it". Anywho, halfway through the shoot she stopped and said she was done. Thankfully, I was already paid but what the hell? Anyone ever experience this? By the way, here is a shot from the set.

Is it possible your friend felt self-conscious, or kind of "weirded out" by you calling attention to the undershirt and editing it out??? Do you suppose she somehow misunderstood what you meant by editing it out?

If she is a friend then maybe get someone to find out why she bailed out on you. It is possible that she have misunderstood your intentions but at the end of the day at least you were paid upfront for it.

Yeah...it's weird...people sometimes act really weird around the entire photography process; people like Terry Richardson are a good example I think, of why so many people are leery about the photography process these days...there's also this weird fear that seems to be spreading as digital photography grows in popularity...I dunno...weird reactions to photography seem to be not all that uncommon these days. Just to clarify, I wasn't suggesting above that you, art, were odd or weird, or anything like that, but more to illustrate the degree of "weirdness" associated these days with photographers and photography. If one were to listen to government and media reports, anybody with a decent camera taking photos is a likely terrorist, pedo, or whack-job...I think the constant repetition of such stereotypical,idiotic views is having a BAD effect on the field of photography.

If she is a friend and didnt finish the shoot i would def offer her the chance to finish the shoot at a later date. Thats just good business esp for a friend. It takes people a while to get used to a camera being real close to their face, esp if you are concentrating on taking the photos and not talking to them. When you are working with non pro models they need constant distraction from thinking about the camera and their flaws. Next time you shoot her, spend some time talking first, make her laugh and keep her comfortable, and watch your facial expressions if you are looking at the photos on your camera screen, if you are worried about how you are doing, she gets worried too, prob thinking its her fault they werent satisfactory to you. Lots of people are super self-concsious
