Flickr seems to oversharpen a bit sometimes but it didnt seem to hurt the photo here. I love using a lot of negative space in a portrait with a clean background (almost if there is going to be text overlayed in it haha) so I tried to creep outside my comfort zone to compose with less here.

Its a nice photo. I can't really tell on my laptop, but it looks like the highlights are a little blown, but it isnt bad.

i dont think getcho is a word, if so it would be in my vocabulary and be used and abused just as much as boobs and chotch.

I like it.

The highlights are certainly *bright* but they don't look "blown" to me. Her eyes are also a tad sharper than feels natural as compared to the rest of the image, but overall I like it.

I pulled it into LR and you are blown around the hands, lips, eyes, but not by that much. I still love the image. I would just bring down the highlights a notch.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm aware that there are some blown highlights, specifically in the hair, catch lights and her left hand but it this was supposed to be more artistic than technical, and sometimes with my post processing workflow, I don't mind pushing pure white or pure black in Lightroom for artistic effect especially since my exposure in camera is correct. At least when it isn't overly distracting or detrimental.

I'm still not sure how I feel about the crop though.

Okay, so then I ask what the technical definition of "blown out" is... cause I'm not getting that in LR.

The only red clipping marks are tiny little specs on the image and barely noticeable.

Around her eyes the highest percentage reading I get is: 92%

Further down towards her cheek I get: an average of 94%

Her fingers get up to 97%

They're bright... they're pushed, but they're not clipping.

And for the record, this isn't me being a smart ass or trying to start a fight about anything, I'm genuinely curious. :sillysmi:

Lmao, not at all actually. She is a sweet, down to Earth normal girl who just happens to be beautifu,l and also patient enough to let me set up these photo shoots for her. I've posted other shots of her on here and she is always so flattered and humbled by the compliments haha.
