What do you do when you have an elevated point to take a photo, but it is blocked by some items like trees and a fence? Move on to another spot or crop the photo?

1) I think the trees in this photo are distracting, but I see no way to crop it further:

2) This was luck, a train in both directions with the camera setup and ready to go... the trains pass in seconds, traveling at 150 MPH:

3) This one has a strong crop, resulting in a panoramic type image:

Third one is definitely the best. you are right about the trees being distracting. There's only so much you can do at times, sometimes you just have to deal with having the unwanted trees/power lines/people in your shot, sometimes you can find a better vantage point, sometimes you can crop them out or shoot on a weird angle to avoid them, other times you can make them part of the picture.
