Shooting around FOG MACHINES

last time I shot in a club I used 2 strobes.one mounted on thr camera and the other i had a friend hand hold....when I got to a composition I liked I would motion to my friend until he was where I wanted him and shoot. Sometimes i had him off to the side and sometimes directly behind the musician...you get great results..also let the shutter drag a little..it will create motion with the ambient light

Get an assistant and put that speedlight on a monopod and have him/her light up the subjects closeby while you shoot. You can also try a CPL to see if that cuts some of the "bounced" light from the fog particles.

You also might want to get a way to control your lighting remotely with wireless triggers and a way for you and your assistant to communicate with each other (light positioning, etc.)
