shooting in a dance club

i just purchased a canon g10 and was very pleased to be approched and asked to shoot a album release party that is being hosted at a dance club. i can only imagin the the lighting will not be the best conditions. any short cuts to the best settings is what im looking for. thanks

will u be allowed to use flash? you can get an exteral flash for the g10.

Assuming there won't be much light: shoot wide open at F2.8 and start bumping up the ISO till it's sharp... that would be my suggestion if no external lighting is available.
