Hello all!Im about to visit Vienna in a phew days and from what i see the temperatures will be from -5 to 0.Can this affect my camera?Could it be damaged?Im really scared about it..I have a Canon 550D.Thank you

Condensation is about the only thing to worry about. Before you bring your camera back inside, just seal it in a plastic bag and let it come back up to room temp before you take it out.

Make sure you have a fully charged battery before heading out as well. Down to -5 isn't all that cold. Here in Alberta, I have no problems even going out at -25 as long as I use a plastic bag before bringing it in.

I keep it simple. I go out with the camera in a small camera bag in -30 and a wind for example. I take it out to take pictures and put it back to ski to another location. When I get back to the cabin, I leave the camera in the case until it gradually warms up and only then take it out.

I have never had any sort of camera problem.

In really cold weather, your battery life will drop significantly. If your going out for a while, bring spare(s).

I just went out today , I live just north of montreal, it is minus 15 celcius
other than batteries , all was fine.
Here an example, sorry the pic is a little rough but it's the first time a used a reflex camera since highschool (1975).
