I´m looking on the google maps what is near me, if I see something interesting than I´m looking if somebody took pictures from that place and if it looks good then I´m going to look around... Sometimes just searching for animals, collecting data, like what species did I see, animal tracks, feathers... Sometimes I discover great spots in my "backyard", sometimes I travel 100km, sometimes I need to sleep over because it's far away and I need to get to know the place better... I don´t know if this helped but that's the way I´m choosing my shooting spots. Sometimes I know that an interesting species live there, sometimes I´m just hiking a lot with 10kg photo gear, sometimes I just hide and wait for hours something to happen.
