Shot some paintings.

This is a shoot that came as a result of being at the 400 Market. The artist had seen our booth and asked if I could shoot some of her paintings.
She brought 6 paintings. All had been daylight balanced. I used a grey card with the every image and they all balanced to 4950K
She was quite happy with the images but wanted paintings 1 and 4 balanced cooler. After a brief discussion I provided four colour temps and for both of the images she liked 3500k.
She's now quite happy with the results. The images taken are so she can have them printed on clothing and mugs etc.

I like how they turned out accept 1 & 4.
I still think they look best at 4950. The white is actually white then but it's her vision.

Great job. Paintings aren't as easy to copy as one would think, the texture of the brush strokes and distortion from not being flat on to the painting, can create problems. Looks like you had a satisfied customer.

Lighting placement can be a bit of a problem with some paintings. If the lighting is to straight on you loose the brush strokes. Too much of an angle and you get shadows from them. Bit of trial and error sorts it out.
