Question about Photo 1 and the D20 in general: what does the Portrait Mode do? As opposed to other modes?

2 and 3 don't appeal to me much, can't quite tell why. Could be the obvious use of flash in 2 and the fact that I recognise only little in 3.

All the others are really pleasing to look at - but I can't tell you what may have caused that vignetting in your photos of the sun set, either.

It blurs the background to make the human subject standout.

Nice results from the new camera, I have had a close look at all of them and I can't see any vignetting in them. Ernie
