Take photos of kids with the Easter bunny at a work Easter party?

I don't have any studio equipment other than a camera and on-board flash.

I'm tempted to say yes just to have some practice but tempted to say no since I don't think I would do it as well as I could if I had better off cam lighting.

Thoughts?

If you have an add on flash be sure to point it up, not a the the kids. Get down low so you are face level. Kids are hard, so this is great practice. Watch for when they give a weird look to the rabbit. Parents are suckers for photos of their kids no matter the quality, they love them and will be grateful you took them.
Oh, and it will help you get used to people staring at you when you are working on your shots.

I did this last year with another camera than I have now. I thought the pics turned out "ok" But I'm my own worst critic. Didn't make any sales off the shots but gained some experience. Those putting together the party have asked me again to take photos of the kids.

Gotta start somewhere! Besides, its worth it for experience.

Give it a go, it's a good way to gain experience - good luck with it.

Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate it. Any advice on how to best light the shots when I only have the on-board flash? (Not hot shoe flash)

Can you rent the stuff you need?
