how did you position the light exactly.. i've been trying to get the effect but the flash always seems to just light up the whole room.. even when lowered down to -3 and using a snoot

Definitely needs to be cropped. Too much black on left and shoulder is too centered. Like this:

I almost wish the darkness to the left on the OP had more light and definition.

Personally, I find the jewelry to be distracting and take away from the simplicity.

Very pretty! I like the cropped version. Also about the jewelry but it doesn't ruin the shot

I feel like it could be sharper...it looks a little too soft, probably due to the slow shutter speed. You could probably have taken it down to F4 and thus shot at around 1/100.

Get yourself some flashes...then you won't have to worry about the shutter speed.
