Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hey Guys!
Its been awhile since I've taken any shots. Here is another of my dog. I was trying to get an interesting angle. I wanted to include my feet to add some perspective. Do you like that? Or does it detract? Also, do you notice anything over the top about the editing? I'm just learning how to clone in GIMP. Thanks for any feedback.

ISO 400, 18mm, f/6.3, 1/60 sec, aperture priorty.

I don't like the feet in the picture. I'd crop them out...

The only other thing that really bugs me is that the dog is licking its boogers and that really bugs me...

Ok I wasnt sure if they belonged or not. Thanks!

Haha aww I thought it was cute ;) But I understand!

The photo seems to cool as far as temp goes.

Nice photo all the same.

As for getting an interesting angle, think of angles we normally do not see in everyday life. We all see dogs from this angle all the time (looking down at them).

I mean, it's cool that you got him with his tongue out and licking his nose, and it wouldn't bother me if his tongue wasn't going inside his nose lol

It's more of a funny bugs me than a technical or compositional bug lol

i don't like the dog in the picture, you should crop it out

I don't care for the feet in the picture. I agree with cropping it out because we can all tell it was taken from above so to me, the feet being in it doesn't add perspective. Also, the snow looks a little blue to me although I am on an uncalibrated monitor right now. I like the dog licking his boogies - it is very true to life! Better than a picture of him licking other parts.

you should of told him to stick his tail out so there wouldn't be the dead space on top :er:

I know everyone always says to shoot dogs on their level, but this isn't your average above the dog look, IMO. It's a close up of his face, eyes nice and sharp, and you caught a cute tongue moment, I love it!

I've actually been going for this kind of shot myself lately, but it doesn't work when the dog won't look up at you, lol.

I agree with cropping out the feet. Unless he's licking your boot it's just not necessary. I think a square crop would look nice.

Oh, and good job cloning, whatever you took out isn't noticeable.

I'd leave the feet out, it gives it a facebookameteur look. I'd also clone out the bit of back above the pooch's head.

I getcha. It's just like pictures of snotty nosed, dirty faced, drooling children.

Look mister.... :gun:

lol

I don't mind drooling BABIES. But yes, it is very similar to the dirty faces and snotty noses on toddlers and young children... It is very difficult to have a child with a dirty face actually work in a picture... I think the only time it is okay for them to have a dirty face is during a cake smash lol

Anywho, let's not hijack the thread with my opinions :) lol My opinions are worthless to the majority of the world... :)

i think the feet shows a bit of the story in the picture, it shows a part of the photographer in the image. its like showing that out there, their just plain nothing(reprecented by the snow) and by showing the feet, makes it feel like that the photographer is this dogs bestfriend.. and with the lick, it shows how happy the dog is with this guy.. well thats just how i see it.. I love this image as it is :)
