Love the cheetahs. Sadly though you don't see them as cubs too often. They are very shy critters.

Great composition; great pose great eye contact!

But something is wrong - I'm not sure what though. It might be the blue of the whites (possibly reduce cyans saturation?); it might be if you've boosted darker areas (not sure if you have or haven't as the tigers left side of the face is still quite dark yet the body of the mother seems to suggest some shadow brighening?)


If anything I would suggest a modest localised boost to brightnes on the left side of the cubs face; coupled with a lift to both eyes - just to bring them out a little more from the shadow of the cats own brow so that they really can connect with the viewer.

Ok, first thanks for the in depth C&C. Really appreciated. No shadow adjustments or color adjustments on this one, it's fairly close to SOOC other than a crop and a bit of sharpening since it was a RAW file. I think the shadows on the cub are coming from a sort of tree trunk like thing that is just off to the left of the frame. I'll see about making some adjustments to the eyes and left side of the face as suggested and see what I can come up with. I'll also play around with the whites a bit.
